Grizzly encounter

Well… Add another near death experience to the list. I don’t have much to say other than thank you to all of you who have sent prayers my way. I’m blesse to be posting this. I had one of the most, if not the most, fearful experiences of my life. I’ve included some videos to help tell the story. I would like to tell you that this is not a joke and it’s not something I take lightly. As you see the videos progress you can see the stages of which I go through. I had a hard time deciding if I was going to share these but this is the reality of it. Keep in mind the videos instantly following the encounter are adrenaline filled and I’m still in shock. As time passes, you’ll see I come down from the high and the emotions set in. I’m doing better today but still thinking and reliving the experience a lot. I’m thankful I’m not hurt and it was a “good” bear encounter. Although, I’m not quite sure it’s “all good.”
The road into Denali Park is closed at mile marker 30 and the only way to go beyond it is with a bike or on foot. So I was in Healy and saw a bike rental for $5. It wasn’t the best bike, but it would get me much farther along than foot. There are very few people visiting the park this time of year and even less people venturing past the gates. I loaded my backpack with camera, food, water and some basic essentials incase I were to break down and had to stay the night in the “backwoods.” Here how my bike trip progressed…

I stopped on Igloo bridge and captured some video. I decided to keep moving so I put the camera back in my backpack and was just lifting my pack to my shoulder, I turned around and there he was.
